My interest in birth work began while supporting friends during the births of their children. Those support experiences, combined with my own birth experiences and my God-given personality and spiritual gifts (extroverted teacher and helper), motivated me to pursue birth doula work. I firmly believe that pregnancy, labor, birth, and breastfeeding reflect the Lord’s amazing forethought and design. It is my joy to share what I have learned (and what I continue to learn!) with a mama and her birth partner.

Prior to my doula training, I had a variety of experiences related to birth and breastfeeding. I supported friends at their births (home births and hospital births). I personally had one medicated hospital birth and two natural hospital births. I breastfed my children for 18-23 months each and was an active La Leche League member for years while my children were breastfeeding (2000-2006). One of my children had a severe tongue tie and was born allergic to cow's milk. I also have years of experience (carrying children of various ages) with ring-sling baby wearing. I am humbled and blessed to have been mentored by an amazing Christian doula, Mary Hanks. I learned a great deal from her experience and wisdom.

I am a mama to three young adults (24, 22, 20), a grammie to two- almost three!- grandchildren, and have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 29 years. I have lived in Georgia for most of my life. Fall is my favorite season, so it makes sense that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. My family and I attend Grace Fellowship Church in Snellville. My passions include homeschooling, traveling, reading, teaching high school sciences, leading Bible studies and book clubs, and dabbling in wedding floral work.
